DUI Reduced to Reckless Driving – Rhode Island

Our client was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in Rhode Island. A Rhode Island DUI has potential penalties of the following: license suspension, ignition interlock, jail time, a criminal conviction, probation, community service, alcohol counseling or DUI classes and fines and fees.

After much deliberation with the prosecution, we were able to persuade the prosecutor to agree to amend the charge from Driving Under the Influence off Alcohol to Reckless Driving and receive a filing as a disposition. This allowed our client to avoid a criminal conviction.
