Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty, Disorderly Conduct and Reckless Driving Dismissed in Rhode Island

Our client was charged with Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty, Disorderly Conduct, and Reckless Driving along with different traffic violations in Rhode Island. 

Obstructing an Officer in Executing of Duty is a criminal charge with penalties of up to 1 year in jail and fines. Disorderly Conduct is a criminal charge carrying up to 6 months in jail, fines, community service hours, and more. Reckless Driving is a criminal charge and, as a first offense, it is a misdemeanor with a possibility of jail, a license suspension, fines, and more as penalties.

Due to the severity of these charges, we immediately discussed our client’s case with the Attorney General’s office with an overview of the case and advocated for our client’s interest. We highlighted mitigating circumstances and inconsistencies in the charges. We successfully persuaded the Attorney General’s office to agree to a dismissal of all charges against our client. 

Following the dismissal, we took steps to further protect our clients future by ensuring their case was sealed. This removed it from our clients record and prevented any negative impact on their criminal record and driving record.
