One of our clients was charged with Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device in Rhode Island. The State takes this charge very seriously. RIGL § 11-47.1-3 states that no person except for a federally licensed firearm dealer, shall manufacture, sell, offer to sell, transfer, purchase, possess or have under their control a large capacity feeding device. With this charge our client was facing potential jail time of up to 5 years, fines of up to $5,000, loss of firearm privileges, and having a criminal record that could negatively impact their future opportunities.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, our attorneys immediately started to work on the case. After they requested all the key documents and meticulously reviewed the evidence, they started to identify potential weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. They explored the circumstances surrounding the charges and started building a strong defense.
Through strategic negotiation and presenting compelling arguments to the prosecution, we were able to secure a dismissal of the charges. This spared our client from the burden of a criminal charge and the associated penalties. If you or someone you know is in a similar situation, the attorneys at Ellison Law LLC are here to fight for your rights. Contact us to discuss your case today.
