DUI First Offense and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test Dismissed in Rhode Island

Our client came to us and was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test in Rhode Island. These charges have the following potential penalties: license suspension, ignition interlock, jail time, a criminal conviction, probation, community service, alcohol counseling or DUI classes and fines and fees. In addition, a DUI is a misdemeanor criminal offense in Rhode Island.

We were able to obtain evidence in the case. Our client was active military and we were able to get them into Veteran’s Court in Rhode Island. Veteran’s Court in Rhode Island provides individuals who have served in the military and are involved in the criminal justice system with treatment and services under judicial supervision. Once our client successfully completed the program the court agreed to dismiss all the charges against our client.

After the charges were dismissed, our client’s record was sealed.
