Our client was driving their car and was accused of following too close in Rhode Island. Rhode Island General Law § 31-15-12 states the following: “The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of the vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway, and shall, whenever traveling through a business or residential district, and whenever traffic permits, leave sufficient space so that an overtaking vehicle may enter and occupy the space without danger.”
Our attorneys discussed the circumstances with the client and appeared in court on their behalf. After negotiation with the prosecutor the case was dismissed. As a result, our client did not have to face any to the potential consequences associated with this charge.
